"Avtorstvo" is the specialized patent agency performing patenting and legal protection of objects of intellectual property.

The office of patent agency «Avtorstvo» is in the third largest Russian city– Novosibirsk, intellectual and scientific center of Russia.

The Novosibirsk region is located in the central part of Russia and covers a territory of 178,200 km². The region stretches from west to east for 600 km, while its length from north to south is 400 km. Over 5% of the region’s area is covered with approximately 3,000 lakes and rivers. Agricultural land covers 48% of the territory.

The region’s population is 2.8 million, 75% living in urban areas. Over 1.4 million live in Novosibirsk.

The climate of the Novosibirsk region is sharply continental. The average daytime temperature in January is minus 20 C°, while in July it is plus 25 C°. The number of sunny days in a year, 280, is comparable to that in the southern territories of Russia.

The region’s leading industries are machine-building and metalworking. Many electronic, instrument-making, machine-building, aircraft-producing, and chemical companies are the only ones of their kind in Russia. There are regional oil, gas, coal, peat, and saprobe deposits. Gold, copper, and nickel deposits have been discovered. The region’s main agricultural products are grain, potatoes, vegetables, milk, eggs, flax, beef, pork, lamb, poultry meat, and wool.

The Novosibirsk regional scientific community is rated third in Russia for the scope of its activities, being a unique combination of research institutes and educational institutions. It hosts three specialized branches of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vector, the state research center for virology and biotechnology, over 50 specialized research, technology, and design institutes, as well as 39 higher and 68 specialized professional colleges.
